Grants

Fund your conversations with a grant.

TableGuide gives you what grant applications ask for: a fixed budget line, a clear evaluation plan, and anonymous results to report at the end. We'll even write the program language, using your own numbers.

Grant or sponsor?

Both can pay for your program. They work differently, and many groups use both.

A grant

A foundation, hospital community-benefit fund, United Way, denomination, or government program funds your program through a written application. It takes longer, can cover more than TableGuide (food, materials, staff time), and usually asks for a report afterward.

A sponsor

A local business or donor pays $999 for your year in one step, with no application. Their name appears as "Sponsored by" on your question screens and take-home pages.

Funders that often support this kind of work

Look for programs that fund community health, belonging, faith-based outreach, aging well, or civic engagement in your area.

Hospitals and health systemsNonprofit hospitals assess their community's health needs every three years and fund programs that address them. Ask about community benefit or community health grants.
Community foundationsMost regions have one, with grant cycles for health, faith, youth, aging, and neighborhood programs.
United Way and local fundsOften fund health, belonging, and family programs, sometimes with small, quick grants.
Denominations and faith foundationsCongregational vitality, small-group, and health ministry grants.
Public health departmentsHealth promotion and outreach funding, often through local partners like churches and senior centers.
Humanities councils and librariesBook discussion and community conversation programs.

What you can report

Every number comes from your dashboard. All of it is anonymous by design: no names, no health information, no sign-ups required.

1
ActivityEvents held, sessions in each series, and how many volunteer facilitators led tables.
2
ReachTake-home page visits from each event: people who left with the conversation on their own phone.
3
SatisfactionAttendees' average rating, and the share who would come to another one.
4
What people valuedThe questions attendees said got their tables talking, and quotes from people who said OK to share.
5
MultiplicationNew groups started by your attendees, and the groups those groups started. Few programs can show this.
6
Continuous improvementA summary of attendee feedback with next steps after each event, and how you used it.
These are participation and satisfaction measures, not clinical outcomes. If a funder asks for health outcomes (for example, screenings completed), pair TableGuide with your own follow-up, such as a sign-up sheet at a health fair or a partner clinic's count.

Questions about grants

Will you write or submit the grant for us?

No. This page drafts the program sections so you're not starting from a blank page. You know your community, your need, and your funder, so you'll tailor it and submit it yourself.

Can the grant pay for TableGuide?

Usually, yes. TableGuide is a one-time payment for a year, with no automatic renewal, so it fits cleanly in a grant budget as software or program supplies. You'll get a payment receipt for your records. If your funder needs anything else, send us a message.

Can a grant period start later than today?

Yes. Set up free now, write and preview your questions, and buy your plan when the grant period begins. If you renew while a plan is active, the new year starts when the current one ends.

Can we report results for each person?

No, and that's deliberate. TableGuide collects no names or health information, which makes privacy simple for you and your funder. Results are anonymous totals for each event and for your program.

Where do I find our numbers?

On your dashboard: events, take-home visits, and new groups are in "Your reach," and attendee ratings appear there once feedback comes in. Each event's Feedback button has its summary and quotes. The "Use these numbers in a grant" link fills this page in for you.

Start before the grant comes in.

Set up free: create your events, write your own questions, and try them on your phone. Fund your program when your grant arrives, or ask a sponsor in the meantime.
